Is Clickbank Legit?

Here is the answer: Yes, with a sometimes no. But that takes explanation.

First, what makes Clickbank such a brilliant idea is that it eliminates the gate-keepers who stand in the way of folks publishing their books, software or services.  These gate-keepers are traditionally known as book and software publishers. And even worse the gate-keepers take the lion’s share of profit. Clickbank has a fairly populist approach. They let a good majority of products into the Clickbank market place. They do ban certain types of sites, but for the most part it is an open, free-market service.  This is an inherently good thing. It’s really like how a democracy should work. And all democracy is built on tolerance. If you want a free exchange of commerce and ideas you must tolerate junk and bad ideas along with the good and great.

Furthermore, like a democracy there is a form of voting and that is the refund rate. If a product’s refund rate climbs too high Clickbank boots the product from the marketplace.  So essentially the Clickbank customers are in charge of deciding which products rise to the top and which products sink to the bottom. That is a true free-market democracy at work with very little regulation, but enough to keep things fairly balanced.

So Clickbank itself is a highly legit service. It’s a fantastic service for publishers, affiliates and customers.

Where it falls into the grey zone is that are blatant scam products on Clickbank. Some of them even becomes bestsellers (for a while, at least). But there is no way Clickbank can check and vet every product before it enters the marketplace. First of all they don’t have the expertise in every niche to weight the validity of every product. Again, they take the free-market approach and let the market decide if the product is good or not. And this is a good thing. If they censored upfront and gate-keeped they would be just like any other big, overgrown Publishing Corporation… There would be too much red tape for publishers to cut through to get published.

But what really makes Clickbank a legit service is that they provide refunds to customers. You have sixty days to return a product you don’t like  and you can return it for any reason. So there is a safety-net in place.

As a full-time Clickbank affiliate I purchase products all the time through Clickbank and I do so worry free, because I know if the product is a scam or sub-standard all I have to do is contact Clickbank and a refund is immediately issued.  So  there you go, whether you’re an affiliate, customer or publisher you can rest assured that Clickbank is a legit service.

ClickBank Product Security Concerns That You Should Be Aware Of

Shoplifting and theft are a big thing in the offline retail world and a lot of security has been put in place to counteract these measures. In the online world also, security is a primary focus also for business owners, and this is especially true with the website of ClickBank.com.

ClickBank.com is an affiliate marketplace where people sign up to promote digital products of internet merchants. ClickBank is very popular and as a result of their popularity, many thieves try their best to “break the system” and get digital products for free.

This is a big concern for internet merchants who sell their product on ClickBank, and is something that you should be concerned about also if you’re selling your product through them also. There are ways to counteract theft with ClickBank, and this is what this article will touch on. You should do everything that you can to protect your profits since you worked on giving your ingenuity in the form of an informational product.

One great way to prevent ClickBank product theft is to not link to your download page from other pages on your website. You shouldn’t try to further your marketing efforts by doing this as it can be problematic for you as your website rankings increase. To be safe, the only way that some should be able to download your product is if they click on the ClickBank payment link and order your product.

You shouldn’t link to your product from other pages of your website as this can create a “backdoor” to your product download page. The page you’re linking from may show up in the search engines, thereby allowing others to download your product. Search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing may find your webpages and rank them high in their search results. Many merchants dream of being ranked high in the search engines, but I’m sure that this isn’t the way that they want to do it.

There is one way around search engine problem and that is with something called a “robots.txt” file. With this file, you’re telling the search engines not to crawl certain areas of your website. The search engines will read this file, and whatever directories you list not to show in the search engines they won’t crawl.

The technique has its perks, and its drawback. The perk is that your files won’t get leaked via the search engines. But the drawback is that hackers know about this file and will use it to their advantage to find out where your products are. You have to decide what is more important to the security of your product and your website when listing your products for sale.

There are some things however that are out of your control when protecting your download links. Some people will take your download page and post them all over the internet for others to see. The amount of theft that occurs from this happening is very small, but if you have a good security system in place, then you shouldn’t be too concerned about this.

The security of your ClickBank product is a must if you want to earn more sales and protect your profits. Good luck with implementing security in your products, and earning more money with ClickBank.

Understanding ClickBank – Can Someone Steal My Sales?

Do you want to ensure that your ClickBank sales are credited to you, and you alone?

Have you been a ClickBank sale theft victim?

In your quest to fully understanding ClickBank, are you aware that it is a simple task for a thief to claim your hard earned commission?

There are rumors that fly around regarding the security of your ClickBank affiliate links and, as such, I am often asked, can someone steal my sales? The short answer is yes, your ClickBank sales can be stolen right from under your nose.

Now, not being a technical person, nor a thief who would try to implement this theft technique, I cannot tell you how to steal someone else’s sales, but I can certainly assist with ensuring you are credited for the sales you make.

However, having said that, what a ClickBank thief will endeavor to do is to replace your ClickBank ID in your product hoplink with their own, and therefore, when a sale is made it’s credited to the thief’s ClickBank account, not yours.

So, how can I prevent someone from stealing my ClickBank sales, I hear you ask?

You need to hide the ClickBank vendor ID in two specific places:

  • in the order link on the vendor sales page
  • in the affiliate URL

You can use the following techniques to hide your ClickBank hoplinks:

  • a redirect link – your own website is required for this, which you can pick up for about $1. For detailed instructions on how to do this, ClickBank has excellent help pages within their site that I recommend you read if you don’t know how to redirect a link.
  • a cloaked link produced by an affiliate cloaking program, some of which can be used for free.
  • a tracking URL, of which there are also plenty on the internet, and I recommend you do your research and choose a program that suits your needs.

The reality is that your ClickBank commission is at risk, but with a little bit of effort and research, you are able to ensure the security of your ClickBank sales.

Start Making Money Online With ClickBank

“ClickBank is The Easiest Place to Discover Products To Promote Online, Period!”

If you want to make money online, you need to be able to source products to sell – products that online customers are buying. ClickBank.com is one of the world’s largest affiliate networks offering 10′s of thousands of products that you can sell online as an affiliate.

ClickBank – How Does it Work?

ClickBank, as an affiliate network, that contains 10′s of thousands of products that people like us can promote. The ClickBank products are created by merchants or publishers. You, as an affiliate, would need to create an account in order to promote any of the products within the ClickBank network. The products range from membership sites, to tools, to guides and advice on practically any topic you could image. There are e-books on how to make your own solar panels right through to how to marry the person of your dreams!

As an affiliate, your aim is to drive traffic to the merchant websites using your affiliate link that is created for you by ClickBank. These affiliate links are unique to your account and are created around the nickname that you create when you sign up with ClickBank. The commission you are paid is based on percentage of the sale price of any product, and that is as much as 75% per product!

Whenever someone clicks on your affiliate link and makes a purchase, you get paid.

Another option is to become a merchant on ClickBank and have other people promoting your digital products for you. If you have a great idea and have written an e-book about it, ClickBank is the ideal place to market it. When you sign up with ClickBank, you can either become an affiliate or a merchant, but I would recommend starting with an affiliate membership in order to gain experience with ClickBank.

Being the affiliate is amazing because you don’t have to deal with client or customer support, refunds, shipping, etc…you only have to worry about it driving traffic to the merchants’ sites and attracting qualified customers.

How is this done? Okay, the best way is to get thorough ClickBank training. I’m sure you have encountered many “get rich” products and schemes out there, but I don’t recommend you use any of them. So what do you do? Where do you go for solid ClickBank training?

It’s really vital that you do your research, read reviews and feedback before you launch into any training program. Don’t be duped!

Once you’ve opted for a training program, you can usually work with it and work as you learn and, once you’ve done your training you will be up and running with your first marketing campaigns.

In order to make money online with ClickBank, a very competitive market, unless you know what you are doing, you will fail. So, choose the correct training platform, select a great niche market, and start marketing. And remember, practice, practice, practice…

Good luck,

Hermione Spencer

ClickBank Storefronts

ClickBank is an internet retailer that sells thousands of different products online. The items for sale are all products or services delivered over the Internet, such as downloadable software packages, eBooks, and so on. ClickBank is not the developer of all these products, but is simply the retailer.

The actual products in ClickBank’s marketplace are developed by vendors. These are people or companies who have integrated with ClickBank and use them to sell their products. They do so because ClickBank provides a relatively simple and easy way to offer their products to the public, as well a chance to reach a wide audience.

Although many thousands of people participate in ClickBank as vendors, there are even more who participate in a second way, as affiliates. Joining ClickBank as an affiliate is free, and you have the opportunity of earning money even if you do not have your own products to sell. This is because affiliates earn their money by a kind of sales commission for helping to promote ClickBank’s products.

There are really two approaches to participating in ClickBank as an affiliate:

1. The first option is to select a handful of products and promote them to a targetted audience – for example, if you own a web site about knitting, you might put some links to ClickBank products for knitters (such as patterns and tutorials) on your site.

2. The second option is build a storefront or mall. The idea here is to offer a wide range of different ClickBank products to a more general audience. Using this approach, you can even offer your visitors the chance to search ClickBank without leaving your site. In terms of implementing the storefront/mall, you also have two main choices: You can either using a third party web service, or you can install a script to implement a mall as part of your site. Using a script might take a little more work to set up initially, but in my opinion it is worth the extra effort since it will probably give you more flexibility in the long-run, and more importantly, with a script, the storefront is a fully integrated part of your own web site (including to search engines) – not a part of somebody else’s site.
